Booking

For customers

What is Pipo?

Pipo is a local-services app for Lagos. You see trusted people near you (barbers, cleaners, plumbers, electricians, movers, errand runners and more), book one in a tap, and pay when the job is done.

Do I pay before the job?

No. Booking is free. You pay the agreed price after the provider marks the job complete, by card or bank through Paystack, or in cash where the provider accepts it.

How do errands work?

Tell a runner what you need, for example a phone from Computer Village. Pipo only handles the errand fee. You pay for the item yourself, directly to the shop or to the runner, and agree the details in chat.

Can I look around without an account?

Yes. You can browse providers, profiles, prices and reviews without signing in. You only need an account to book, message or pay.

How are providers checked?

Providers can verify their identity with their NIN or BVN, and verified providers carry a blue badge on their profile. Only customers whose job was completed can review it, and each booking keeps a record of messages, timing and payment in case anything needs to be sorted out.

How much does Pipo charge providers?

No sign-up, listing or monthly fees. Pipo takes 8% of a completed service and 5% of an errand fee, capped at ₦50,000 per booking, the lowest commission around, so providers keep 92% or more. Many booking and ride apps take 20 to 25%. Providers are paid out instantly after the customer pays.

Does Pipo do rides?

Yes. Pipo Rides is coming to the app: short local trips by bike or car with a rider nearby. You see the fare before you confirm and pay when you arrive.

Can I sign up on the website?

Yes. Create your account on the Pipo website now, then sign in on the app with the same email and password when you install it.

Where is Pipo available?

Pipo is launching in Lagos, starting with Yaba, Surulere, Ikeja, Lekki, Victoria Island and nearby areas, with more of the city to follow.

What is Pipo Rides?

Pipo Rides lets you book a short local trip by bike or car with a rider nearby, in the same Pipo app you use for local services. Book a rider straight from the map or post your trip with a drop-off for nearby riders to take. You see the fare before you confirm and pay when you arrive.

When is Pipo Rides available?

Pipo Rides is coming to the Pipo app as it launches across Lagos. Create your account now and you'll be able to book as soon as it's live in your area.

How do I pay for a ride?

At the end of the trip, by card or bank through Paystack, or in cash if your rider accepts it. Like every Pipo booking, nothing is charged up front.

How much does Pipo take from drivers and riders?

8% of the fare, capped at ₦50,000. Drivers keep 92% of every fare. Many ride apps take 20 to 25%.

Is it safe?

Riders can verify their identity with their NIN or BVN for a blue badge. You can follow the trip live on the map, chat without sharing your number, and every trip has a record in case something needs sorting out.

Earning

For providers

What does it cost to join Pipo?

Nothing. There are no sign-up, listing or monthly fees. Pipo only earns when you do: 8% of a completed service and 5% of an errand fee, never more than ₦50,000 on one booking.

How does that compare with other apps?

Many booking and ride apps take 20 to 25% of every job. On a ₦20,000 job, Pipo's 8% leaves you ₦18,400, where a 20% fee would leave you ₦16,000.

When do I get paid?

Instantly. As soon as the customer pays for a finished job by card or bank, your share is sent to the bank account you added in the app.

Can customers pay me in cash?

Yes, if you accept cash. The customer pays you directly and you record it in the app. Pipo's fee on that job is taken from your next payout.

Who pays the card processing fee?

Card and bank payments go through Paystack, which charges a processing fee. The provider covers 90% of it and Pipo covers 10%.

How do I get the verified badge?

Verify your identity in the app with your NIN or BVN. Once it's approved, a blue badge shows on your profile and customers can see you've been checked.

Can I offer more than one service?

Yes. List up to five specialties, add photos and videos of your work, and set your prices for each.

How do errands work for runners?

You set an errand fee and Pipo takes 5% of it. The cost of the item itself is between you and the customer, agreed in chat, and never passes through Pipo.
